After much use of your silicone hose, the inside surfaces can become cracked causing the hose to become defective over time. Usually, this happens because it becomes dry, dirty or worn out. We have a few tips to share with you to keep your silicone hoses in the best shape:
- Clean your silicone hose with a gallon of hot tap water with a half cup of unscented bleach. Make sure that the water is not scalding hot.
- Re-circulate cleaning solution through the hose by allowing it to sit and soak. Let the hose just rest in a small container with the cleaning solution.
- Be aware of pressure over 500F. When silicone hose is heated to high temperatures, it becomes soft and can be easy to crack.
- Use a small amount of rubbing alcohol.
- As our standard silicone hoses are not compatible with oil and fuel, we offer chemical fluorocarbon resistant hoses.
- You may use regular soap and warm water
- Don’t use silicone hose with continuous steam applications.
- Don’t use with petroleum products containing fluid transfer.
