Today on the Flex Technology blog, we will turn our attention to the 4-Ply Silicone Hoses that we manufacture. Not surprisingly, our 4-ply silicone hoses are slightly thicker than our many of our other hoses. For example, our 4-ply hose has an acceptable range of 0.170” - 0,220”, with a target of 0.20” wall thickness.

By contrast, our single ply silicone heater hose has a 0.16” wall thickness. The main difference between our 4-ply hoses is that our Aramid reinforced hose is reinforced for high-temperature applications. The Aramid reinforcement is good up to 500 degrees Fahrenheit.
