Got A Silicone Hose Question? Flex Technologies Can Help!
Every now and again, we here at Flex Technologies get a lot of questions about silicone hoses and ordering them from our site. Answering those questions in the blog gives us the opportunity to increase their exposure and point people to our helpful FAQ page, where we have the answers to several questions that we received from customers.
These questions range from specifications of the hoses to the delivery of them. Some of the more important questions we have been asked recently relate to specifications of our hoses and silicone tubes. We will answer a few of those questions here. If you have other questions, please check our FAQ page.
How Is A Silicone Hose Measured?
Some hoses are sold as an "Each" item others have a "by length" option. On items with length options, please pay careful attention to the unit of measure as some items will be sold "Per Inch" and others will be sold "Per Foot". Elbow leg-lengths are always measured from the centerline radius.
Is there an industry specification that is applicable to silicone hose?
Yes, our industry standard is SAE J20 Class A. Our finished silicone hose and tube products and raw materials are regularly tested to ensure complete compliance. Please contact our engineering department with any technical or specification-related questions.
What is the temperature range of silicone hoses?
It depends on the reinforcing fabrics within the silicone hoses. Standard polyester will handle -65F through 350F continuously, while our premium Nomex fabrics are suitable for temperature requirements as high as 500F. Please contact our engineering department for additional details.
