When Would You Need Custom Silicone Hoses?

9th Apr 2020

At Flex Tech, we offer our clients custom hoses as an option. When might you need a custom part instead of a standard one? Read on to find out.

For Prototypes And New Designs

Are you making an experimental, never-been-done before design? Are you working on a prototype for a new engine, assembly line, or contraption of some kind? You may benefit from custom silicone hoses and tubing.

We can customize products to meet your exact specifications. Whether you need specialized silicone tubing to transport fluids or gases throughout your new design, or you need to incorporate industrial hoses in your prototype to test out how they might work should you decide to mass produce in the future, we can help you.

To Operate In High Temperatures

Most of our products perform consistently within the operating temperature range of -65 degrees and 350 degrees Fahrenheit. While this range is fine for many applications, there are industries that require parts that will hold up in higher temperatures.

We can customize hoses to be able to withstand temperatures up to 500 degrees Fahrenheit. Ask about our premium Nomex fabrics and how we can tailor silicone hoses to assure performance and reliability even at high temperatures.

For Certain Fluids

Some fluids are especially caustic, and extra care has to be taken to select the right hoses and tubing that will stand up to the abrasive, corroding properties inherent in these liquids. For example, our standard hoses on their own are not suitable for use with specific oils or fuels. However, when properly paired with fluorocarbon and fluoro-silicone liners, they can safely do the job.
